Perfusion Life Asks: Can Artificial Intelligence Help Us Answer Questions in Healthcare?
ChatGPT has been all over the news and social media recently. If you are unfamiliar with ChatGPT, ChatGPT uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to create content based on the information that you feed it. To understand how it works, you really need to see some examples. Here is an extreme example from Twitter that was extremely popular. The user prompted ChatGPT to write a bible verse about removing a peanut butter sandwich from a VCR:
It’s quite amazing what can come out from ChatGTP!
What if we ask it about common questions we ask ourselves and our businesses? Here at Perfusion Life, we are constantly looking to delivery value to our customers so oftentimes we ask ourselves: what is it that our 1099 relief workers bring to the table for hospitals? What the the strengths and advantages that come with using temporary relief?
We asked ChatGPT: What is the advantage of hospitals using contractors vs full-time employees? The results were as follows:
There are several advantages that hospitals may experience when using contractors instead of full-time employees:
- Flexibility: Using contractors allows hospitals to adjust their staffing levels based on the needs of the facility, rather than being locked into a set number of full-time employees.
- Cost-effectiveness: Contractors are typically paid on a project or hourly basis, which can be more cost-effective for hospitals than maintaining a full-time staff.
- Expertise: Contractors often have specialized skills and experience that can be beneficial for hospitals, particularly when it comes to handling specific projects or addressing specific needs.
- Reduced liability: Hospitals using contractors can be less exposed to legal, compensation and benefits liabilities, such as unemployment insurance, workers’ compensation, and benefits.
- Compliance and legal requirements: Using contractors can help hospitals avoid compliance and legal requirements, such as minimum wage and overtime laws.
- Reduced administrative burden: Hospitals can reduce the administrative burden of managing a full-time staff, such as recruitment, hiring, and training, by using contractors.
It’s important to note that contractors aren’t always the best option, as they may lack the institutional knowledge, commitment, and engagement that full-time employees may bring to the job.
As you can see, ChatGPT really did an excellent job summing up the benefits of utilizing 1099 employees! This information allows Perfusion Life to focus on these areas and continue to provide value to the clients that we serve!
